Frequently Asked Questions

What services are available to me?

TCPA can only provide services through our volunteer network.
If you do not already have one, you will be assigned a primary care physician as soon as one is available. Your initial visit for each TCPA provider you see MUST be scheduled through the Thurston County Project Access (“TCPA”) Referral Coordinator, but after that (for the length of your enrollment) you can schedule your own follow up appointments with that provider.
You will be allowed to use any of our participating pharmacies to fill prescriptions and get limited medical equipment at a discount.
TCPA offers limited mental health assistance - focused mainly in the area of medication monitoring and mental health screening/evaluation.
At this time, we do not offer dental or optometry services.

What if I can not afford the prescription I’m given?

Contact the TCPA Referral Coordinator and we will try to help you.

Can I go to the Emergency Room?

If you have a medical emergency, we strongly recommend that you go to the Emergency Room.
Your Emergency Room costs will NOT be covered by TCPA.

What would cause me to be dis-enrolled from the program?

Not following provider instructions (ex: not taking medication)
Not following Referral Coordinator instructions
Lying about insurance, income, or other personal data
Using medications inappropriately
Not showing up to appointments
